Last week I was listening to Sundara Kanda by Sri M.S.Rama Rao. I felt I should share details about him in this article.
Sri M.S. Rama Rao (1921-1992) is a famous singer in Andhra Pradesh, India. He gained fame for his Telugu Version of 'Hanuman Chalisa'. He also narrated Sundara Kanda (One part of of Epic Ramayana) in form of Songs in Telugu. He gained fame for his singing the above two works and was awarded a name of 'Sundara Dasu' in 1977.
I personally listened to him when I was around 12 years old in Rajahmundry. For almost 10 days everyday evening our family used to the attend the sessions where he sang 'Sundara Kanda'. Though I was very young, I still remember enjoying those recitals. Each day the recital used to end with recital of Hanuman Chalisa. And memories of those recitals keep coming back to my mind even now whenever I listen to his cassettes.
