We all understand how much importance we give to
images of God. Having a photo of God with us always gives us lot of pleasure.
When we are feeling down looking at the image of God lifts our spirits up. The
following are two experiences I had where I found God came to our house in
form of image. Many times when we are given images of God to us we feel
blessed.
God comes with us to America
It was a few weeks before coming to America that I
visited my native place Rajahmundry. We spent around 5 days there with my
parents before we started our journey to US. During this period we went to a
place in Rajahmundry where we wanted to get a photo of Lord Ganesha which we
wanted to bring it with us to America. The shop does lamination of photos and
sells them. We looked around the shop and one particular photo of Lord Hanuman
attracted me and my wife. She suggested that we will buy that also. I was
thinking we don't know exactly how much luggage we have and I didn't want to
bring too many things as it will be a problem. Somehow I resisted the initial
impulse buy that image also. We came out from the shop after we bought the
photo we wanted and went back home. But somehow I was being attracted to that
photo of Lord Hanuman. I could not resist this anymore. It was as if HE was
calling me. Finally I went alone to the same shop again and bought photo of
Lord Hanuman. Now this particular photo is in my living room and I am glad
that I bought that. We feel HE is watching us all the time and everytime we
come in or go out we bow to him. As I write this experience, I have the photo
just behind me watching me writing this. Images make the presence felt
strongly and I felt on this occasion HE accompanied us to America in the
photo.

Another similar instance happened which prompted
to write these two experiences. I went to shop to buy Indian Groceries. During
every day prayer we use the oil filled cotton wicks to put the light, as a
custom. I wanted to buy more cotton wicks. As I searched, I didn't find
the regular cotton wicks I buy every time. Instead I found different kind of
cotton wicks. Out of the packets available one of the cotton wicks packet had
image of Lord Hanuman. I first hesitated and then bought the packet. What made
this look more special, that packet is only one of that kind available there. Again I
felt happy that God wanted to show his Grace and this small photo I received
is placed again among the images in my pooja idols. And every time I see this
photo I feel blessed.
Many other people may experience similar
experiences and I felt blessed on both these occasions and I am glad for the
same.
