Sustaining devotion

Kishore

We humans are bound to changing emotions. Sometimes we are deeply interested in one aspect and after sometime the interest wanes. It looked like the same for me in my spiritual life. I have not been able to give enough attention to what I consider most important aspect of my life: my devotion to God and sustained spiritual progress. I have not been able to update the website for almost four months and I considered this as an indication of my lack of focus on my spiritual discipline.

Since my personal life has been busy with arrival of my second daughter, it is easy to say that I have been busy and hence I could not update the site. But I prayed to God that my life should be still be focused on the Lord and prayed to give me strength to continue my service to God through the website. Jaihanuman.org has helped some devotees gain back their faith in God and spirituality and it should not suffer due to me. I should continue service of God in my humble form.

With this intention I prayed to God and asked for inspiration. I got the necessary inspiration to write two more articles including this one and update the website without any delay.

Maya of God is powerful. Lures of the world try to take us away from path of devotion. We strongly pray to God when we are trouble. When we are materially doing well and we are happy we tend to show less interest in God. This should not happen. Sustaining devotion to God can happen only through His Grace.

Let us pray to God that despite temporary lapses in our devotion and prayers to God, let the Lord take care of us and bring us and back to the path of devotion and service to Him. Even during the lapse that happened, I was able to continue my daily prayers and remember Him always.

I also request other devotees to regularly contribute their experiences with God and
